The Queensland Government Better Regulation Policy (PDF) (the Policy) outlines requirements for the development and review of regulation. The Policy requires the QPS to critically assess the impacts of proposed regulatory policy options using a regulatory impact analysis to help ensure the introduction or amendment of legislation is necessary and effective and avoids unnecessary burden on affected stakeholders.
An Impact Analysis Statement is the assessment of a regulatory proposal and is published on an agencies website after it has been approved by the Commissioner and the Minister for Police.
