How we make decisions

The Queensland Police Service’s (QPS) strategic level decision making is represented within a strategic governance framework and is communicated within the QPS Strategic Governance Manual (SGM).

The SGM details that recognised strategic governance entities within the framework consists of:

  • The QPS Board of Management (BoM);
  • The Executive Leadership Team (ELT);
  • The Demand and Capability Committee (DCC);
  • The Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARC);
  • A sub-Committee or working group specifically established by the Chair of any of the above strategic governance entities to perform specific purpose/s detailed within their own Charters.

A range of additional (i.e. non-strategic level) QPS governance entities are also in operation and are valued for their role throughout the state.
