We know it's not easy but if you can, sometimes it is very helpful if you write some details down about what happened as soon as you can after the assault. Things such as:
- Where you were?
- What you were doing?
- What the person looked like?
- What they were wearing?
- What they might have said?
- The registration of the person’s car or what it looked like?
- If they had anything distinctive about them?
Your notes of what happened may assist you to give evidence in court and help you to remember what happened. The court process may take some time to progress; this is why notes can help you remember what happened accurately.
