Crime and Intelligence Command

The Queensland Police Service Crime and Intelligence Command provides a professional and holistic response to crime within Queensland.

The Command has a workforce which is represented by plain-clothes officers and qualified staff members who provide specialist skills, advice and assistance.

The Command supports regions through the provision of investigative resources, research findings and professional legal, financial and technical advice.  It has a state-wide responsibility for identifying, investigating and suppressing criminal activity and criminal networks.

The Crime and Intelligence Command delivers enhanced intelligence and investigative capability for frontline policing through:

  • Challenging the current operating environment through a collaborative lens
  • Maintaining the specialities of crime and intelligence and continue to build regional capability
  • Greater understanding of the influences impacting on the QPS environments
  • Prioritising resources for greatest impact on crime and support to frontline
  • Discovering opportunities to build on future capacity
  • Enhancing the prevention and disruption strategies to reduce the impact of crime on the community, and
  • Remaining the central point of contact for interstate, international, government and industry partners for matters pertaining to serious and organised crime.
