Let’s work together to end knife violence
In an active step towards reducing weapon accessibility among young people, new laws will come into effect in Queensland from 1 September 2024 banning the sale of knives and particular controlled items to minors.
The Queensland Human Rights Commission (the Commission) is working with the Queensland Police Service (QPS) to review practices and procedures and recommend changes to improve the recruitment and retention of women, First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse police.
The Community Experience (CX) Project commenced in May 2021. The core deliverable for the project is the QPS CX Survey. The aim of the survey is to create a baseline for community satisfaction that can be used to understand both the drivers of satisfaction and the impacts of any changes in how we deliver services.
