Weapons licensing fees

For new applications, you will need to add the application fee + the number of years your licence is issued for, e.g. new application for a firearms licence for five years will be $117.61 + ($38.85 x 5 years) = $311.86.

For renewal of a licence you will not need to pay the application fee, only the fees for the number of years the licence is to be issued.

Our fees and charges usually increase on 1 July each year. On 1 July 2023, our fees and charges were increased by 3.4% in line with the government's indexation policy.

In line with this policy, there are no changes to Weapons Licensing fee's for the 2024-2025 financial year.
