Concealable occupational - Vet surgeon/nurse

You must provide the following documents as evidence of your genuine reason for a concealable firearms licence:

  • Business plan – Copy of your business plan with business name – please only include pages relevant to the following: Addressing Risk, Police Contact, Firearm Use and Community Safety
  • Business public liability insurance – Copy of your public liability insurance
  • Veterinary Surgeons Board – Provide a copy of your current annual registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland; showing that you are the holder of a recognised veterinary degree.
  • Business/Employer letterhead – A current and signed letter on a business letterhead verifying:
    • the reason why firearms are necessary,
    • the position held by the applicant,
    • the category of firearms required to use, and
    • the nature of the duties undertaken in the conduct of your business/occupation.

You will be required to establish why Category H firearms are necessary, and why firearms of another category will not be sufficient.
