Being safer together in Queensland
As part of the QPS Safer Together initiative, and to help you find support and answers to questions that fall outside of Queensland Police Service's key functions, the organisations listed below have been collated for your convenience.
- Addiction, Mental Health, Counselling
- Qld Health Drug and Alcohol Information Service (adis)
Provide 24/7 support for people in Queensland with alcohol and other drug concerns.
- Family Drug Support
A 24/7 national support line to help families and friends of people who use substances, as well as bereaved families.
- Arafmi Qld
Support and education services to people with mental health support needs, their families, and carers.
- Kids Helpline
A free and confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.

Free confidential counselling and support for parents and carers.

Run by the National Anti-Scam Centre to collect reports about scams to help warn others and take action to stop scams. They also provide up-to-date information to help you spot and avoid scams.

- Relationships Australia
Provide information and support services for all individuals, families and communities to achieve positive and respectful relationships, including victim support. They are committed to promoting safety, respectful relationships, social justice, and diversity.
- The Qld Government Dispute Resolution Branch
Services that help resolve disputes, including mediation, restorative justice, and child protection concerns. Group training and accreditation is also available.
- Legal Aid Queensland
Legal help and information on topics such as going to court, domestic and family violence, parenting arrangements, money and debt, disasters, cars and driving, police and your rights.
- Women’s Legal Services Qld
Help with legal advice and support with domestic violence, family separation or divorce, parenting and child safety.

Information about the role of Family Law Court, and other legal information regarding family relationships.

Information such as going to court; applying for protection; understanding bail; dispute resolution; and procedural fact sheets etc.

Administer laws for consumers and businesses, including rights, complaints, and scams. They also help investigate and resolve marketplace disputes and unfair business.

- DV Connect Mensline
Support for men who are using abuse or experiencing abuse in their intimate partner, ex-partner, or familial relationships to change abusive behaviours or access safety from abuse.
- DV Connect Womensline
A free 24/7 helpline and support for women and their children in Queensland who are experiencing domestic and family violence.
- DV Connect Sexual Assault Helpline
A specialist team of counsellors. They provide confidential advice and support to any person who lives in Queensland who has been impacted or knows someone who has been affected by sexual assault.

They support grieving individuals and families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of their baby of child during pregnancy, birth, infancy, and early childhood.
- StandBy Support After Suicide
provide support to bereaved individuals, families and entire communities who are grieving regardless of how recent or long ago the death occurred. They also deliver workshops and professional development to upskill communities to support each other.

A free independent advice and referral service for all Queensland renters.
- The Homeless Hotline
A 24/7 information and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.

Information about your rights, such as housing and neighbours; reporting and resolving disruptive behaviours; tenancy breaches; and mediation etc.
- Qld Statewide Tenant Advice and Referral Service (QSTARS)
- Seniors' Support
- The Seniors Enquiry Line
A statewide information and referral service for Queensland seniors, families, friends, grandparents, and carers. Anyone can call the Seniors Enquiry Line for information and referrals around topics such as concessions, consumer issues, financial services, health, home help, housing, legal services, scams, social and leisure activities, technology and transport.
- The Elder Abuse Prevention Unit Helpline
They offer confidential support, information, and referrals for anyone who is being abused by someone they know and trust – usually a family member.
- The Public Trustee Queensland
The Public Trustee is a socially and fiscally responsive Statutory Authority that helps to make decisions that enhance the dignity, rights, and interests of Queenslanders, such as providing a free will-making service; and assisting with: enduring powers of attorney; trusts; unclaimed money; and deceased estates.

Provide care, support, commemoration, and camaraderie to enable veterans and their families to live with dignity and respect. They provide a broad range of welfare and wellbeing services, programs, and events, including assistance with finances or DVA claims.
