The QPS CALD Consultative Group was established in 2021 to contribute to healthy, safe, positive and inclusive workplaces through the provision of advice, insight and guidance on matters relating to and impacting the multicultural workforce of the QPS.
Membership of the CALD Consultative Group is made up of individuals with diverse languages, cultures, faiths, experiences, ranks/levels, roles and geographical locations.
The first CALD Consultative Group was responsible for the establishment of the QPS Multicultural Network and the QPS Calendar of Culturally Significant Events.
This group is integral to the enhancement of the QPS as a culturally safe, culturally inclusive and culturally capable organisation.
The CALD CG is administered by Multicultural Affairs Unit.
The purpose of the CALD CG is to:
- Identify–gaps as well as opportunities for improvement within systems, processes, programs and organisational actions to drive cultural inclusion within the QPS
- Discuss–represent voices and experiences of multicultural QPS members and participate in open discussions to identify causality as well as opportunities for resolution.
- Advise–contribute solutions-based input, advice and options within the groups ’cultural capability.
Executive membership will consist of:
- a Chair (Inspector Multicultural Affairs)
- a Deputy Chairperson (S/Sgt or Sgt Multicultural Affairs) and
- a Secretary
