Wide load travel restrictions

Travel restrictions are set out by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).

Certain curfews apply to various council areas and can be determined by checking the TMR Conditions Database for the intended route of a wide load. State-wide curfews apply during the Easter and Christmas periods to minimise the risk to the general public.

Christmas period 2024/25

For any loads that require police or multiple escorts (greater than 4.5m wide and/or greater than 30m long) – No travel between 12.01am Thursday 19 December 2024 and 11.59pm Thursday 2 January 2025.

For all over dimensional loads - no travel between 12.01am Tuesday 24 December 2024 and 11.59pm Thursday 2 January 2025.

Easter 2025

For all over dimensional loads - no travel between 12.01am Thursday 17 April 2025 and 11.59pm Tuesday 22 April 2025.
