Biography/Story
Detective Senior Constables Damian Leeding and Nicole Jackson were the first response unit to attend an armed robbery at the Pacific Pines Tavern, Pacific Pines, on 29 May 2011.
It was further reported that staff and patrons were in the tavern at the time of the robbery. The welfare and safety of the staff and patrons was unknown to Leeding and Jackson.
The two Detective Senior Constables exited their police car to investigate the matter and were confronted by an armed offender who fatally shot Detective Senior Constable Leeding.
He died in hospital on 1 June, three days later.
